This very elegant and attractive georgian serpentine chest is constructed from richly figured, dense mahogany timbers and retains a superb colour and patina.
It is elegantly designed with a lot of thought being put into small details, the result of which is a fabulously attractive item of Georgian 18th century furniture. A couple of examples of the attention to detail are the lovely figuring to the mahogany timbers used for the wide crossbanding and the feet which are banded and inlaid to great effect. It is also a good bold serpentine shape.
