The bed is entirely made of hammered brass castings and bronze plates, with horizontal decorative elements in metallic enamelling with abstract concave and convex elements.
Applied work of art of great workmanship and importance recognized by the Borsani Archive as one of the collaborations with Maestro Arnaldo Pomodoro, but currently NOT present in the Arnaldo Pomodoro Archive, as they were spontaneous collaborations and undocumented at the time.
It is currently the only one on the market in this version with 3 rows of rings, two large ones above and below and a smaller central one with decorative plates inside.
This precise model with a three-row variant was the direct inspiration for the great artist and furniture maker Luciano Frigerio in the creation of his first bed in cast brass, the “Thailandia” model in collaboration with the designers Ciansky and Scelba at the end of the 60s”. after which the production of cast sculpture beds began at Frigerio in Desio which lasted for decades.
The first bed produced in cast brass by Frigerio of Desio was deliberately a direct homage to the work of Borsani, who inspired and influenced the work of the sculptor furniture maker in the 70s and 80s, a direct testimony of the Frigerio heirs.
The work was confirmed by the Osvaldo Borsani Archive and appears at archive number 8605 of 1959.
The bed is in excellent original condition with original patina of the time, it has only been cleaned but not polished so as not to change the history of its almost 80 years, at the collector’s discretion whether to keep it in its original state or want it as new.
